Michael Dattoli

Medical Doctor - Radiation Oncology

About me

Dattoli was very interested in finding non-surgical ways to treat cancer while he was in medical school. He knew that some types of cancer had worked well, so he worked hard to improve treatment options for prostate cancer through brachytherapy. More than 30 years ago, Dattoli was lured from Memorial Sloan Cancer Center by Dr. Richard Sorace, who encouraged the young doctor to go to Tampa and co-found a brachytherapy clinic.

Dr. Richard Sorace recruited Dattoli from Memorial Sloan Cancer Center over 30 years ago, convincing the young physician to relocate to Tampa and co-found a brachytherapy practice. There were many non-surgical ways to treat prostate cancer when Dr. Dattoli and Sorace formed a strong partnership. Dattoli Cancer Center was later set up by them after they moved their practice to Sarasota and set up their own cancer center there. He has medical licenses in Florida, California, and New York. He is also certified in Radiation Oncology by the American College of Radiology, which is a group of doctors.

Michael Dattoli has been an important part of many cancer and radiation therapy studies. He has written a lot about brachytherapy, oncology, radiotherapy, and urology, and he has done a lot of research. He has written a lot of textbooks and booklets about prostate brachytherapy. He has also written or helped write more than 50 scholarly journal articles and peer-reviewed publications.
